- The 3 “walking path” of the Area
Around Rennes, 3 long-distance footpaths are even easily accessible by public transport: the GR34, the famous ‘customs officers’ path’, the GR37 which crosses the heart of Brittany, and the GR39, which connects Mont-Saint-Michel to Guérande, passing through the Breton capital.”

Memory and Heritage: The Newfoundland Fishery
The “Terre-Neuvas” were the fishermen of the “terre-neuviers” (Newfoundland fishing vessels) who, from the 16th to the 20th century, set sail each year from the European coasts to fish for cod on the Grand Banks of Newfoundland, off the coast of Canada. These fishermen were mainly French but also included Spanish Basques, Portuguese, and English.
